KNXDroid Version 2.0 is just around the corner, the beta testers are sending now the final reports, and everything is just ready for this release.
this version will include some major new features:
1. You can connect, monitor & control you KNX Installations via the Gira home server.
2. You can import your devices list into KNXDroid with a single button click
3. You can Export the monitor screen information to CSV file for later analysis.
4. You can set a custom icon for each device
5. KNXDroid will now be available in German, French, Spanish in addition to English
and of course, this release contains many bug fixing and performance improvements.

What I am missing is Im-/export of Data, for transfers to other Devices or Backup.
Next, I don't know, if it's my configuration, but my ABB IP-Router IPR/S allows only one Connection by KNXDroid. Why?
Normally the router can be connected by multiple clients?!

ReplyDeletethe Import/Export feature is planned for the next release (the one after this),
and as for the single connection problem, then this is normal. KNXDroid using "tunnel" connection to the KNXNet/IP and 99% of the knxnet/IP devices in the market supports only single tunnel connection in a certain time.
actually, i have an open source project (for PC + Linux/Windows) that overcomes this problem by providing tunnel connections to single KNXNet/IP device. there are also other open source projects that provide solution to the problem such as "EIBNetMUX".

ReplyDeleteI bought knxdroid yesterday and it works already. Nice Tool - but I have some questions and suggestions for improvements:
1. is it possible to arrange the placement of the tools? (to move lights/shades up or down in the list)
2. could you make some kind of administrator login, so that the user just can see the control register in the standard view. ( In this view it should be not possible to "delete all" - which is very easy to do... :-(
Problems:
1. shades are moving down when pushing up...
2. I have problems in finding and connecting via VPN (although KNX IP is pingable via PC and VPN / ETS 3 is connecting via VPN)
3. do you have any Idea, why I could have problems especially in sending $00 bits (for example light "off", etc.) I sometimes have to click twice or more often, before the actor reacts. (not for "on"??)

ReplyDeletegreat app, but adding devices using only the phone is not really efficient, so I'm really eager for the next version which will add import / export. Will you use a file format that can be edited on a pc, so the configuration can be done a little faster?

ReplyDeleteKNXDroid looks promising, but does not properly control my light switched (only the switches. dimmers and blinds work fine).
I'm able to switch the light using KNXDroid only a single time. Then no further write telegrams are sent out (according to ETS monitor).
I can make KNXDroid switch the light another time, by either switching the light with the hardware switch or by doing a read with the ETS. Then KNXDroid sends out a single write again.
It seems KNXDroid needs to "observe" the status of the switch, before it sends out a single write.
All my light switches use separate group addresses to report the status, which I can#t enter in KNXDroid.
Any idea how to fix that?

send telegrams/programm etc. via ets3->wlan->ipr/s2.1-> bus-devices WORKS!
now the KNXdroid found both devices (ipr/s 2.1 and bab-tec eibPort)

ReplyDeletei think after the update KNXDroid do not resolve a dynamic dns Adresse ! if I use the numeric adresse like 94.34.56.122 KNXDroid connect properly to my Siemens N148/22 but with the name Adresse example “patrick.dyndns.org” I can not connect. Pls help!
